The Danger of Buying Pacts Online

In the digital age, everything is for sale—even pacts with spirits and daemons. A quick browse through Etsy or similar marketplaces will reveal hundreds of listings promising wealth, love, power, or protection in exchange for a fee, and that fee, as scary as it is, ranges from as little as $1 to $60,000. These “pacts” often claim to bind powerful spirits to work on your behalf, with little to no effort on your part.

This trend is not just misguided; it’s dangerous. The very notion of purchasing a pact from an anonymous seller and expecting spirits to honour it without personal involvement is flawed. More concerning is that most of the people buying these pacts have no foundational training in magick, leaving them vulnerable to forces they do not understand.

Magick Requires Knowledge, Not Just Transactions

At its core, spirit work is about relationships—relationships with spirits, deities, energies, and one’s own will. Entering into a pact is not like ordering a service on a website; it’s a deeply personal and often lifelong commitment. True pacts with spirits require mutual respect, understanding, and, above all, active engagement from the practitioner.

If someone lacks the ability to communicate with spirits, discern their presence, or even understand the nuances of spirit work, how can they possibly navigate a contract with one? Magicians spend years developing skills such as spirit communication and discernment. Without these abilities, one has no way of knowing whether the spirit in question has even acknowledged the agreement—let alone agreed to uphold their end of the bargain.

Who Is Really Making the Pact?

One of the biggest issues with purchasing pacts online is the question of legitimacy. Who is the seller making a deal with? Are they actually summoning and negotiating with a spirit, or are they simply taking your money and sending you a piece of paper with some grand promises? (And it literally is is a PDF document that you may have paid hundreds of dollars for, that tells you to do X Y & Z and boom, you have a pact). Many of these listings rely on vague language, offering no real proof of spirit involvement beyond “trust me, it’s done.”

Even in cases where the seller has performed a ritual, there’s no guarantee that the spirit has agreed to anything. Daemons and spirits are not vending machines—they are ancient, intelligent beings that cannot be forced into servitude simply because someone paid $200 on Etsy. If an agreement was made, it was likely with the seller, not the buyer. That means the buyer gains nothing but false expectations, while the seller reaps the benefits.

The Risk of Unintended Consequences

For those rare cases where a spirit is genuinely involved, the danger escalates. Without a proper understanding of daemonic etiquette, offerings, respect, and boundaries, the buyer may unknowingly offend the spirit or fail to uphold their end of the pact. Spirits do not take broken agreements lightly, and a poorly structured or abandoned pact can lead to unintended consequences—ranging from simple spiritual stagnation to full-blown hauntings, obsession, or misfortune.

Without foundational training, the buyer is entirely unprepared to handle any repercussions. They don’t know how to banish, how to renegotiate, or even how to verify whether the spirit they supposedly made a pact with is the one they intended to contact. This lack of knowledge turns what should be a careful, considered process into reckless spiritual gambling.

The Right Way to Approach Spirit Pacts

If you’re serious about working with daemons or spirits, take the time to build a solid foundation in magick. Study spirit communication, learn proper ritual procedures, and cultivate the skills needed to engage with the spirit world safely. A pact should be something you create yourself, after developing a relationship with the spirit in question—not something bought from a stranger on the internet.

For those who truly wish to work with daemonic forces, guidance from experienced practitioners and recommended magical texts will serve you far better than a dubious online listing. The spirits deserve more respect than a casual transaction, and so do you.
